Just reading the Media kit for the Detroit show...Some very interesting news comming out from Ford about their new Powertrains. The show should be very good.

You are right. I just hate the interior of the Camaro. I like a lot of things about it no doubt. The Mustang to me is much more friendly.

I thought my favorites were set to CAMARO forums. Must be a bug in my browser.

I have probably said it before here.

I believe Ford will have the top pony car performer off the showroom floor however the Camaro is much more mod friendly and there is a nice sized aftermarket.

This is what has me torn so much between the two.

I can live with the interior of the Camaro as a trade off for aftermarket but at the same time I could take a 2011 Mustang, not touch the motor, get stickies with a 4.30 and be right in the low 12 sec., high 11 range. Not sure how much faster I need a DD. I feel like a transvestite. So confused?!?!?!?!?!

I believe the Mustang GT will run roughly $1K more from 2010 to 2011 base price.

I believe the stock mustang will be advertised and touted as being 0.1 seconds faster than the stock Camaro 0-60 and 0.1 seconds faster in the quarter mile. Since these numbers are not "SAE Certified", they can exaggerate or downplay these numbers any way they see fit.

On the track you will see an equal number of bone stock Camaros beating Bone Stock Mustangs as you see the reverse. Their numbers are close enough it's going to boil down to driver skill and track conditions and other unrelated influences.

You might as well be racing SS vs SS and Mustang vs Mustang and insisting which one will win each time.

Anyone notice in Ford's web site that the new GT will have an estimated curb weight of 3603 lbs? With all that HP and that weight, it kinda hurts to say, but the new GT's gonna give the SS a hard run for its money. I'm curious to see how Chevrolet intends to respond... For everyone who whines about weight differences by the way, remember that the Camaro has IRS, something the Mustang still doesn't have, and that adds weight, unfortunately.

Oh, and I absolutely LOVE how the new GT fuel economy numbers are EXACTLY the same as the SS, for BOTH transmissions!! Oh, Ford, you silly goose... *laughing tear*

I sure GM can get some more power out of the engine with better tuning to help it compete next year. I highly doubt they'll sit idle.

This all-new high-tech 32-valve V-8 with Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing generates 412 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque while delivering a class-leading 25 mpg on the highway.
Class leading? I thought if it was the same then it was a tie? And I didn't know 32-valves and variable cam timing was high tech... just normal.
