Dissapointed?
Is anybody else dissapointed that the Camaro will get a V6, instead of a V8?

no, why would we be dissapointed? the v-6 is what allows the car to be marketable and sell the numbers required to keep it alive. its not getting JUST a v-6, there will be v-8 models out the door as well.

Yeah, I'm puzzled myself. We've already been told that they're was going to be at least 1 V-6 and a V-8. Has something changed that the rest of us don't know about? But to answer the question I'll have to give a puzzled NO, I'm not disappointed.

Are you disappointed that the sky was pink last night? That didn't happen either.

I just want the BASE model to have a V8, not a special model.

IS IT 2009 YET???

The Camaros have ALWAYS offered a V6!
You could say part of it's heritage! Now if they started putting V6's in Corvettes...I'd be seriously dissapointed!!!!!!

the BASE model is just that, the lowest powered motor, fewest interior upgrades, fewest overall options of all of them. thats why its available at a decent price and will keep this car alive.

You know what, what NOODLESgoneWILD said has grown on me, Camaro's always had a V6 as an option, so it's heritage. I'm not dissapointed anymore. Now how do I close this? lol

There will be a V6. It will probably comprise of around 70% of Camaro sales. There will also be a V8. It will be geared toward performance-oriented enthusiasts and muscle car purists who will seek no modifications. The V6 will heavily be marketed GMPP accessories as a way to make more profit on the already successful base Camaro. GM will make a killing on this combination. The V8 is necessary to make Chevrolet look good to purists who would rather buy a Mustang than a Camaro V6, even if it is adorned with the RS badge. The V8 also races professionally in some race series, making a selling point for the Camaro brand. In affect, the V8 will sell the V6 to those who want performance—300 ponies is a butt-load of power—but cannot afford another $4-8k on their ride.
