I'm not going to be another one of those "chicks" with a V6 pony car, that you guys like to talk about so much. I say go big or go home!

Yeah, well there's no replacement for displacement

True, but a V8 can always be faster/quicker. I guess it comes down to where do you draw the line in the sand? Do you have to have a V8 or is power/weight, regardless of the number of cyl, the most important?

Having said that, it certainly seems like CAFE is persuading us to think this way and consider HiPo v6s as an alternative.

This is true, My V8 gets 25mpg Highway Modified
those V6's with Turbos get 27 Highway at 13 PSI and they spent as much as I spent on mine GT. So they saved money. Sure I could drop 7 grand for Wipple and get 475rwhp and hit 11's but then I'm back to spending more than them, it's a balancing act. The only thing I have that they don't is the V8 Rummble.

All I can say About CAFE is that when Obama/Hilary get in you will see that go even higher, she/he may Ban V8's out right or tax the crap out of oil and we will be paying what europe is paying now that will force american thinking into higher standards. so I am doing my best to get all three, Mustang, Camaro and Challenger before the V8 is killed for good.

I voted that I would take but I still want the V8. If Hillary/Obama can in and made gas Europe type of prices i.e. $6-8 per gallon I will definatly consider the DI V6 esspecially a performance tuned version of the CTS engine. $3 gas, give me a V8 and I'll gladly complain about the pice of gas.

Now don’t get me wrong, I want my S/C V8 but wow, the results are surprising... I’m starting to think many of you have never had your ass handed to you by a turbo V6… Imagine what a twin could do…

fair enough but do you really want to be the guy driving a Camaro with a turbo spooling up under the hood

I've had my ass handed to me by a Dodge Stealth R/T twin turbo. But he didn't look as cool as I did when my firebird's front tires started to lift off the ground.

You can bet your ass I will be slapping a T6 or so under my v8 vert's hood.

V8 bellow + hissing > V8 Rumble and belt whine.

Think of it as an aircraft carrier catapult.

Lock and Load.

No kidding. Hearing that whine when you pull up to someone....boy, is it cool. I had a little experience w/ a Chevy 2500 that I SWORE was turbo'd...this guy had massive tires too. So, I know it took him POWER to keep up w/ my last Z28. Yeah...moving all that weight and keeping up??? IMPRESSIVE.

I want the V8, but if they did away with it, wouldn't complain about a TTV6 (yes, I'll complain if it's only got one... ).
