GM no longer uses a letter designation followed by the word "body" (I think the last car GM makes with the old nomenclature is the Impala's W-Body).

Once GM began utilizing global engineering and design, then making a platform flexible to take on many different shapes, sizes, and drivetrains, calling a chasis a "body" didn't fit the bill.
The Greek alphabetic nomeclature is just used as the generic "category" for the vehicle structure, each specific vehicle on the platform still has a unique English alphabetic designation, just like they have had since the inception of the 17 digit VIN(and for portions of 13 digit VINs)

Saying that a car is a Zeta body/chassis/platform tells one very little about the vehicle, however if you were to say you had an ER youd know right away that it was a G8 V6, EC is a G8GT, EE is a Camaro LS and an ES is a 1SS. EXACTLY the same way as when an FP was a Camaro, FS was a Firebird and FV was a Formula or T/A.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned this yet.. but here are your facts..

Cheryl has said many times, she fought and fought and because of that ALL camaros will have an F in the vin number.

ALSO..

The new chassis name/code is a Zeta which is the 6th letter in the Greek alphabet..
The old chassis name/code was an "F" which is also the 6th letter of the English alphabet..

The "F' is dead. Ain't no one, no where calling the new Camaro an F body. The VIN deal may be a tribute, but that's all. Long live Zeta!

So no, not ESV's, Suburbans.

"VIN number" is redundant!!

VIN = Vehicle Identification Number

So when anyone says "VIN number", they are acutally saying "Vehicle Identification Number number."

This from the Encyclopedia of Anal Retentive Facts that are totally meaningless to anyone.
