Walmart Oil change

Stop! Do not do it.... I have had them screw up a few family member's cars... Oil Change = Burnt fuses WTF???????

And no they did not come and tell them, they had burnt fuses as a ploy to sell fuses.... They drove home and figured it out when things did not work.

My complaint also is about Walmart Tire & lube. I stopped for an Oil Change on my 2005 Dodge 2500 with 67000 miles. I went in between 5pm and 6pm on 08/07/2009 for an oil change for my 95 Buick Lesabe, I also had other shopping to do so they had to take my keys to customer care which is not a problem they give you a bar code when you drop off your car so you can pay at any terminal in the store...I checked out a little after 7pm, stopped on my way home and bout some coolant, when I got home I pulled the hood release but my hood did not pop up..Now I know I have an older car but regular oil changes and keeping coolant in it keeps it going..I called Wal-Mart and they told me to bring it up there the following day for pictures to send to their insurance claims..I asked what am I suppose to do about putting coolant in my car..

The manager Paul of the Mexia, Tx Wal-mart would say nothing but you will have to refer to CGI..He insulted my car calling it old insinuating that me or my car being old is at fault and not some lazy mechanic who was careless with someone eles's vehicle..I told that manager that I never had a problem till I brought it there..One of the mechanics that was trying to help open it was going to tell me somewhere I could get it fixed and the manager would not let him he cut off the mechanic stating CGI will discuss that with you...He was a huge ass hole and I will never again get my oil changed at Wal-Mart again...Nor anyone I know...So Thank you PAUL one of the Managers Of the MEXIA, TX Wal-Mart You have shown Wal-Marts true colors.......YOU SONS-OF-B*I*T*C*H*E*S

Left dipstick laying on radiator under hood

Would you want your car to be maintained by somebody that is paid below industry standards? I'm sure they're happy getting paid less than their peers. And we all know that people that are happy with their jobs tend to take more pride in their work. Oh wait, I said that backwards... I've never known a happy Wal-Mart employee.

I let the Chevy dealership do the oil change on my Camaro. Sure it was a little more expensive, but in theory these people are trained to work on these car's, and for a few extra dollars it was worth the peace of mind. I also only let the Dodge dealership do the oil changes on my truck, and the Honda dealership does the oil changes on my wife's Pilot. In the long run it might cost me a little more, but again, these people are trained to work on these vehicles.

OP- It doesn't take a certified mechanic to change oil. If people think that it does, then all the do-it- yourself'ers should not be doing it themselves either. I think you will be okay with Walmart,,, you will be as okay with going to Walmart as any other Oil and Lube place.

No but it takes an idiot to burn fuses, leave a dipstick out, put the wrong filter, leave the drain plug loose.... Wal-Mart has cornered the market on those......

You're right, you don't need to be an auto tech to change oil...but there is a difference between some guy with a wrench and you. It assumes they care as much about your car as you do...

I won't even let the dealer change my oil. If you want to know it was done right for sure, do it yourself.
