Mustang GT 500 not selling .

I live in New York state and decided to buy a 2014 ZL1 over a Mustang GT 500 because the ford dealers around my state and neighboring stats where telling me the price was sticker or 5,000 and even 10,000 over sticker if i wanted to by the car . What a joke, well i am very happy with my choice and love My ZL1.
For kicks i just did a Google search and sure enough all the Mustang GT 500 that where listed like that now say negotiable and there are allot of them out there. I guess there not selling like they thought they would .. Justice LOL

I am really glad they did tell me that because i feel i got allot more car for the money .....

Look its the dealers, in my area a real nice dealer (salesman was a Jack A) walked up and said thats 10K over price and we will not lower. They were quite happy it sold for a 10K mark up on that ZL1. Stupid as hell but I guess it happens to all cars. I am sure the Z/28 will be marked up at least 10K if not 20K.

Foolish, greedy dealers.

I would watch the car rot before I purchase over MSRP sticker.

I was looking at a ZL1 2013 with 1,000 miles on it and it was $3,000 below blue book. I get it that a car that goes off the lot instantly depreciates. That car was sweet, but I didn't have the cash, and I wanted to do more to my 2010 2SS

You do have some idiots that pay 5k+ over sticker cars like that, that's why they do it. Not everyone will pay that so then the stupid dealers are stuck with a 2-3 year old car that ends up selling for 5k+ less than the sticker. Saw it when the Shelby's came back out few years ago.

Hey, come on guys. Dealers would never try to take advantage of us. They give the best possible low "no haggle price" so that you don't have to deal with the "hassle" of negotiating. How convenient for us! Thank you dealers!

There were several new here in MI that were for sale $5k under sticker back in Jan/Feb, so timing is everything.

The GT500 has been out of production since the end of Nov, and at last estimate there were less than 500 new ones still on dealer lots.

With no hi-po replacement due for at least another year, the dealers are going to try to maximize profits on the few that are left, simple business supply and demand. Because of this some dealers will be stubborn and sit on these cars for a long time, at least until the end of summer..

When I was looking at ZL1s in '12, the dealers were tacking 15-25K on top of sticker! That's why I'm in an SS.

You would be crazy to pay window sticker price, never mind dealer markup at this point. With so many very low mileage used cars for sale your target price should be in the upper 40s - mid 50s range. Why would you pay 68+K for a new car, only to have it drop 10-12k the moment you pull out of the lot. If you go over to the SVT forum there are a bunch of these like new for sale.
