How do you remove the ZL1 engine cover? Is there anything special I need to know?

Thanks!

Gently pull up it. It held on with rubber grommets.

you need to remove the engine in order to remove the cover. Requires epic engineering skills. J/k

Just pull up on the cover from the corners, strut doesn't need to be removed.

Strategically placed dynamite!

Actually, they are relatively easy to remove.

Your going to need 3 people....one to hold the cover and the other 2 to yank down on the car to get it off?

You have 3 rubber grommets. One in front and one on each side in the back. Just gently pull up on them and it comes off.

Pull up on the 5 rubber boots that hold it down. 2 on the back "fingers", and 3 across the front. Then...gently flex and pull it out from under the strut-tower brace...be careful, there are skinny wires and extended sensors on the driver's side. Try to avoid them....

But otherwise...pull-up, and remove.

1) Remove the hood
2) Attach lifting straps to each corner of the cover
3) attach straps to electric winch or engine hoist
4) pry up with 18" bar if necessary

5) Reattach with Gorilla Glue on the studs when you are done - all in 5 easy steps!!
