Ok since it ate my first post i will remember to copy it before hitting send...
Ok so you have the biggest output. From Quick times website that bellhousing at least the part number i see in the pic is for a viper trans behind a ls motor 6038 http://www.lakewoodindustries.com/ca...010_74512G.pdf they list the depth as 6.322 When ya get a chance measure the thickness of the front plate they used to convert it to early style t56/tr6060. If they used a normal tr6060 input shaft length then hopefully it is 3 inches thick. Because supposedly your stock trans has a 9.5 inch depth to that same location. Supposedly the magnum input shaft is shorter. And I dont know if the ls1 style one is any shorter... I will do some digging |

Well today we got the fittings for cooling and sensors for various purposes moved over to the new transmission... I also did the preliminary cut out for the added length... I've got to trim a little more in the morning now that the trans is in the car... I was conservative with my first cut... Joe came by this afternoon and created all kinds of mayhem... J/K... Joe is going to be doing the repairs to the interior console...
Late this afternoon, we finally got to stab it in... It took a little doing but we got it and it looks great... The black plastic piece is put there to help me gauge how much of it has to be cut... I've already trimmed some of it...

In these pics, you can see the adapter plate that the throwout bearing and slave cylinder rest against...
There are also various pics of the trans prior to stabbing it in...

Here's a few pics of the trans as it sits in the car... Bare in mind we haven't modified the cross member yet, so it is sitting on a screw jack... I have to trim the shifter hole about another three quarters of an inch prior to putting it to it's final position...
In the am, in addition to fitting it to its final position, I will be taking measurements and taking my drive shaft to Thrash is san Antonio to have the drive shaft length altered and the proper yoke installed on it...

Work of art. Can't wait to see / hear final results. I don't understand all the technicalities but sounds, and looks very impressive.

Wish i was stateside, I am 99 percent positive the ls1 t56 tailshaft would of been perfect for your swap, no cutting required stock shifter location and the trans mount was further foward as well.
I can validate this when i get back. If it isnt too much trouble measure the end of the trans where the tail shaft section bolts on to trans mount, and then to shifter nub. |

Also where the stock crossmember mount hole is in relation to the same spot on trans.
The difference in shifter location from a ls1 t56 and a TR6060 is 3.5 inches The big difference is the bell housing ls1 = 5.5 inches Tr6060 = 9.5 inches so it should put the shifter within .5 of an inch and according to these pics the trans mount should be damn close as well. |
