305 & 315 Owners

Guys, I have a new 2010 RS and would like to see rear pictures showing how wide the tires are on your car. I love the wide look.

Also what size of wheels would you recommend for the front and back. Im open to suggestions.

Thanks

Bobby

These were posted by forum members. The top picture is a 305x20 and the bottom is a 315x20. These were pictures I downloaded for personnel reference so I`m not 100% sure if I identified them correctly, if not I`m sure the original posters will correct me.

Most common sizing for maximum fit would be:

9" wide fronts with either 265-275 tires
11" wide rears with 315 tires

Plenty of room in the back for 315s, if you have the correct wheel offset. Good wheel dealers can help you pick the right sizes

What is the widest tire that will safely fit on a stock 20 X 9 rim?

Stewcam, what size tires do you run up front and what profile on the 315/22s?
I'm trying to figure out what profile sizes are needed for 295/20, 305/20, 315/20, 295/22, 305/22, & 315/22 in the rear and 275/20, 275/22 in the front. With this info I can search to see which sizes have more manufactuer options and better prices.

You can put a 305 on a stock rear wheel but that is a little risky...

if you drive it hard and go throught tires then I'd stick to the 275 for stock wheels....

But if you don't beat on it then you can probably get away with 305's but that is the absolute limit....

Here are a couple threads on the topic.

22x9 up front with 265/30 and the rear is 22x11 with 315/25

You can ask 9ball and Alex from Speed Depot. Both seem to know the best tires given the rim size.

Im running.....

Front:20x10 w/275/40/20
Rear:20x11.5 w/305/35/20

If i decide not to run Perelli's next time around i will goto 315's out back as Perelli does not offer a 315 for my application.

Yup, that is my car in the bottom pictures, here is another but the lighting only shows the left one really good. 315/35/20's on 20x11.5 wheels, I am running 275/40/20's on 20x10 wheels up front. Plenty of clearance but I haven't lowered it yet but shouldn't have any problems as I am not going to run an alignment that is any more aggressive than stock, not that the stock alignment is aggressive...

One thing to consider is "Backspacing". If you want wider, go with more backspacing on after market rims or spacers inside stock rims ( about $100).

Just mounted wheels today. Took this picture to compare 20x9 left and 20x11.5 w/315 right. P-Zero vs Nitto Invo

With the wider wheels, fender gap is really noticable. A week or two away from lowering car. Just waiting on delivery of swaybars.
