I am the proud owner of a 2013 2SS LS3 and this being my second one ...I am a bit confused. ...sorry I am not a tuner guy or gear head by any means but I was under the impression that they came stock with 426 hp??? ...is this just an inflated number they put out for sales?... What am I really getting from a new SS so I don't go looking stupid when some one ask me about my real numbers? ...I have an M6 LS3 with dual mode exhaust and the Hurst package...anyone know what my real numbers would be?...just an estimate maybe??...thanks in advance for any input....

426 is what GM guarantees the motor puts out...426 cranking HP. you have drive train loss, which on the LS3 puts you right around 370-375ish if you figure roughly a 12-15% loss. your numbers may read a little bit lower than that till after you've given it a good solid break in...or so i've heard.

Just cruising through. Was checking to see if anyone had put a 2013 on a set of rollers yet. Curious to see if there is any difference between the 2013 with the NPP and electric PS vs others. [ subscribed ]

Pulled some great numbers, however no base run so no true way to compare it. I will say that I can't believe I was thinking about waiting till I went home to get the tune done. When I had my door dings fixed by Aaron(clinc), he referred me to Justune @ MC Racing. I can't say enough about his work. It feels like a completely different car. Before it felt real sloppy. Now it feels tight and fresh. Better throttle response and it feels so smooth now. If your in the midwest around the KC area I would highly recommend Justune.

Oh, and the butt dyno approves of this message.

440rwhp without a cam is a really optimistic dyno...not bashing, just saying.

I agree. Like I said, there is no real way to compare since I never did any type of base run or anything. The real test is tomorrow, at the track.

Pulled some dynamite numbers earlier this month. No baseline before mods, but very happy with results with only bolt-ons. They said I set a shop record for a 5th gen with bolt-ons. They had gotten some 5th gens with bolt-ons into the 450RWHP range before, but mine was the first over 460RWHP. No cam here, just Cold Air Inductions CAI with ADM performance scoop, Kooks custom stepped headers w/HFC's, Borla S-Type catback exhaust and Vmax ported throttle body tuned on a Dynocom by Dale Cherry at Injection Connection. Car runs smooth with lots of power now.

"Kooks custom stepped headers w/HFC's"

Kmm1412 are those the Kooks 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" stepped headers?

Yes

My tuner believes they were one of the reasons why there was a difference between my car and other 5th gens with bolt-ons that they have tuned. I bought them from Maryland Speed. My tuner carries Kooks, but not their stepped headers. He was very surprised with the numbers he was able to get from my mods (as I was also). You can view my build by going to my garage.
