1-4 shift

Anyone notice this, when i drive around town, and the skip shift pops up, and i change it to 4th, its like the engine almost boggs, because its going so slow. Anyone else have this problem

Yes, it is engaged when youre in first between a certain speed and with a certain throttle %. Its to save gas. It usually catches me off guard, and i get a cruddy shift, and by that time the car is off speed and 4th gear is too high. Its just to increase in town fuel economy.

I can't speak from personal experience on this because I am still waiting on my car for delivery, but from what I have heard is you don't have to shift into 4th when this pops up. You just can't shift into second. Instead you can shift into third and see if that helps. Alternatively you can buy a skip shift eliminator kit pretty cheap ($20-$30 I think). The install of this is pretty simple and quick...you just need to be under the car to do this.

After a while, you'll be able to predict when this will happen and just go from 1st to 3rd. Life goes on. No skip shift eliminator needed.

Not sure if anyone has experienced the but when this happens to me. I accidentally bumped my shifter to the left twice then it slid into second and this works for me now..

My supercharger freaked the computer out so much that it doesn't trigger skip shift anymore under any condition.

therefore, you should buy a supercharger to prevent this from happening

Skip Shift Eliminator. Probably the cheapest, and best mod you can ever do!

Skip shift is awful. Buy an eliminator, best <$50 mod you'll ever make.

We have used them on Corvettes since 1997 and they work well.

My mother just takes off in second in her 2004 Z06. I just blurp the trottle when I shift to second, or run the RPMs up a little higher in 1st.
