Different Stock Axle Diameters?? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I had broke my passenger side axle about 2 months ago, and the dealer replaced it, well im installing coilovers and just noticed that the passenger side axle that they replaced is significantly bigger in diameter then the original driver side. its about a INCH bigger in diameter....... has anyone else that has had there axle replaced noticed this? should i take it back to the dealer and tell them i want the driver side axle replaced as well to match the passenger side one?????

The half shafts are supposed to be different diameters...it's part of the engineering they did to reduce/eliminate wheel hop. But an inch? I'm not sure what the sizes are supposed to be...but that sounds big.

I've gotta ask -- did you measure it, or are you judging by eye?

ok makes sence i forgot about them being different sizes to reduce wheel hop.... i just saw the difference and posted a thread really quick...
