Newer units must be upgraded.
Ive used a couple of EBoost 2's in the past on Subarus ( 60psi versions ), they only ever had 4 setpoints though Ive never used the EBoost street. Although reading through the instructions just now, it does still say only 4 setpoints can be accessed via external switching...which is how they achieve an attempt at boost by gear. It can do many variations of up/down based on a switch etc. But it is only up/down one at a time. Or upwards based on time. But I still dont see any option to truly cover boost per gear when you wish to select any gear at any time, and none for boost by mph. |

I remember LGMotorsports had the switch plates for a TR6060 transmission so you could run the boost by gear on the eboost2, A friend of mine has it on his SpeedINC Z06 and it works wonders.

I just tried to find that on their site with no luck. I thought I read on LS1tech they didn't offer it anymore because the switches were finicky.

From what I'm reading, boost by gear is not an option without a bunch of other mods to make the system know what gear its in. Even with an AMS-1000.
I will probably just run 4 different levels on the Eboost2, basic 10 PSI (10# will be my gate springs), 13psi, 16 psi, then all out at 20-22 psi. I imagine this will be better than nothing at all.....hell, maybe my shop will come up with something Thanks for the replies!!!! I guess my next mod could be a nice MOTEC system!.....$$$$$$ouch

Most of the nice aftermarket ECUs you don't need a boost controller because they control the boost. I have a 5.8 psi spring and run my SP1 at 10psi, sp2 at 14.7psi, sp3 at 18.5psi. You can do up to 6 set points with the eboost 2. One thing I do for traction is to leave it on a lower set point and turn it up after the car settles. Dallas Performance does a boost by gear setup for the eboost 2 but then you only have 4 set points and I believe it involves a series of micro switches. eboost 2 gives you two wires for boost by gear. So no ground will be sp1, one ground will be sp2, the other one grounded will be sp3, and both grounded sp4.

By "turning in up" after car settles, is this just a press of a button on the eboost2? This could me doable if so. Like i said, dont have the controller or turbos for that matter but am trying to learn all i can now. I know Taylor at DP, may have to drop him an email

You can get a speed based switch and have switch, say at 60mph or whatever. Basically would act like boost by gear but would be speed based.

I have the boost leash. It's a time based unit. You can get the speed based add on. I might look into that. But for the money I think it's the best bang for the $$. Easy to use and change on the fly. Also has a scatter button that will allow a preset max boost level. Kind of like a shot of nitrous if you have it turned down to let's say 12lbs and you get a surprise in the other lane and need to add more.. I'm running mine with compressed air, one gallon tank with compressor in the trunk.

You can always go with a manual boost tee as well.
