How much above MSRP will you go
I was wondering how much is too much above MSRP? I never bought a new car before.

I guess it's just a matter of how bad you want the car coupled with how much money you're willing to waste/spend (depending on your outlook on buying cars). I'll pay MSRP...but not a penny more. GM says that's how much it's worth, then why should I have to pay any more? |

0.00 minus my GM card earnings if I can use them minus whatever I can negotiate.
I'll wait as long as I need to wait. As much as I'd like to be first in line, that ain't gonna happen. Although I'll definitely stop by the dealership(s) to see what they have on the lot/showroom as soon as they come out. I may just go in the showroom and sit in it until they throw me out or have me arrested! And I'll definitely test drive one. The salespeople will say, OH NO, not him AGAIN. |

I also intend on trying to get financing myself before going to help my position. Capitol One will give you a blank check for up to the amount you're willing to spend/approved for. Just like walking in with cash. I've always heard dealers dealers are more flexible when you're paying cash. Maybe that'll help. |

I'd like to say zero. But probably I won't have that luxury what with it being an import and all. So we'll see.

I won't pay more then MSRP
Some of you mentioned the GMCard, does it put money toward any GM vehicle or is it only on select models?

I doubt I'll have much more than $600-$700 on the card, but every little bit helps. |

ZERO
IMO, unless you want to be "the first kid on the block with the newest toy", there is absolutely NO reason to pay above sticker. When I was getting ready to buy the SS, I shopped several dealers, and just about all of them tried to explain the mark-up as a "by-product" of wanting a car that had to be "ordered". So, I just took my time, shopped via the internet, and ended up getting the SS under sticker. Same thing occured to my brother when he was buying his C6. As I said, unless you "gotta have it" immediately, if you're willing to do some "homework", and wait a little, you can get the car at sticker. |

$0. I'd rather drive a few hundred miles to a dealer that'll sell me one at MSRP or below. I'll do all my price negotiating with the internet manager over the phone. And that'll only happen after my closest dealership gets sick of me looking at the beautiful Camaros on their lot.

Zero. I'm waiting until about 2012 anyway, and if they're still doing markups at that point I'll look elsewhere.

I'm not touching above msrp. I suggest that if someone finds a dealer selling at our below msrp they should post it up here or advertise it around. Let them get more business for what they gave you. It may also help those who are having trouble finding one that's decently priced

No way will I pay over MSRP. If they try it, I'm not buying.
