If the Challenger is going to weight over 4000 pounds and it the same size as the Camaro, how is the camaro going to weight much less?
Ok the Hemi 6.1 is an Iron Block and the Camaro will be aluminum that would shave a few hundred pounds, but I can't see the camaro comming in under 3700.

All I've got to say is I hope Chevy has a couple aces in their back pockets!!! It can still produce those numbers, 4000 lbs or not.

You can now "build" you're Challenger on Dodge's site...Wow.....this really is for real.
And the Challenger is MUCH bigger than the Camaro concept (and it looks like they shrunk the Production car length-wise), not to mention the Challenger is "fatter". But, still...I have no idea HOW the Challenger made it this big. Whatever, Camaro is closer to the Mustang's size at any rate, so a wieght similar to it would be expected moreso than that of the Challenger. Specs:.................................. Ok, I have to admit, the new Challenger, is an absolutly gorgeous car. I love the way it came out. the only thin i dont like is the fact that the dash is nearly identical to the Charger, but that I can live with. I love muscle cars, Ford, Chevy, or Dodge, but I'd still take a Camaro over all of them! Cudos to Dodge on creating an awesome looking car (despite the fact that its kinda on the large side).

Am I the only one that absolutely does not like anything about the Challenger? The exterior is a lame re-hash of yesterday and the interior is as uninspired as they come. It's performance isn't even that impressive. Their top dog SRT-8 looks to have similar stats to the base Mustang GT yet costs what? $10k more without any dealer markup? Thanks but I'll stick to the Camaro.
Imagine similar HP numbers to the Challenger with the weight of the Mustang and an IRS? Wow, it's going to smoke both of them without a doubt.

I liked the Concept Challenger, but I love the production model... I like what they did with the tail lights, I love the lines and I don't really see how the production car is any more a rehash of the original Challenger than the new Camaro will be of the '69 Camaro... and I even like the interior... they kept it simple and functional... there is room for improvement and they will probably make those improvements... but they beat the Camaro to production by almost a year, and that was their goal.
as I've said before, I think I'll pick up a 2010 Challenger sometime in 2012... it would make a great addition to our little fleet of cars
