Smile Looking in to Buying Headers

So I just added a Borla S-Type to my 2010 SS L99. I love it, it also has an Intake from CAI. I was looking in to headers but I'm concerned about how loud it would be. Will it be too loud inside the cabin? This is my Daily driver so I don't want to be annoyed. Also will it help if I but the Range technology device that disables the AFM? Your opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Depending on if you go with shorty or long tubes a tune will take care of the afm. As far as noise level when you're just cruising it's not loud at all but wot it is very loud.

I've seen some post where most people say its best to go with LT headers vs shorty. I would obviously would like to go with LT for the power.

I have Texas Speed Performance Headers, off road cats, x-pipe, resonator delete and glass packs. I'll be going to borla atak axel back. It's only loud when you smash on the gas. But cruising, not loud at all. This is my daily driver as well. Once you put the LT headers on you'll need a tune and the shop will disable AFM.

Full borla! Heard one at an exhaust shop. Was beast sounding at WOT, but nice and smooth but not too mellow at idle. Didn't hear it in cabin at cruising speed, but knowing Borla it's probably not too "drony".

Thanks guys, looks like I will be ordering some headers. Now what brand? Stainless Works? Kooks? ARH? Doug? Any suggestions?

Go Texas Speed Performance! Saves you money and just as good as Kooks, if not better. Check out this thread.

Well I went with Kooks and have no regrets. Ordered the full system(headers, cats, xpipe, and mufflers) from JDP. Great fit up and they sound great and pretty nice gain HP wise with the Dyno tune.

ARH is the best ones out there if you are looking for quality. Pay for what you get though.

My route I'm going is Texas Speed with Solo Mach XL catback. No drone from Solo and great price on long tube headers.

The Borla S type sounds good with headers and isn't over the top. I suggest going with Kooks, but ARH and Stainless Works are great too.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,
