Help with Barton Shifter Install V6

Just got my Barton short shifter and I needed to know how to remove the upper dust boot from the stock shifter so I can remove the centering springs and lower the shifter from the mount. I loosened the 4 10mm bolts but the dust boot didnt want to come off.

Any help would be appreciated.

i just stretched it as far as i could until i could fit the allen wrench in the bolt. I don't know if it can be completely removed from the top.
