Help! Power locks not working!

My power locks are being very troublesome. They will sometimes lock and sometimes unlock. But at times they don't work.

I hit the lock button. The headlights flash, but the locks don't lock. I hit it again and the horn beeps and the "alarm" is set. If I open the door, the horn starts beeping and I have to hit the power unlock switch to turn it off.

If locked, I hit unlock and nothing happens.

This works exactly the same if I hit the dash power lock switch. So it's not the FOB battery.

My dealership mechanics say that there is a TSB saying hitting the lock button repeatedly activates a temporary lockout that acts just like this.

HOWEVER! I'm hitting the button 1 time, not repeatedly.

Anyone have any experience with this? I need a way to fix this, or prove to the mechanic that it's real.

Oh, I also tried the Onstar app and it says the door is now locked, but nothing happens. So it really is something in the car, not my remote.

mpiper, have you ever tried showing your mechanic what you do when the issue occurs? Replicating the issue in this situation would probably be the best way of getting this addressed. Hopefully it is something simple and doesn't take long to fix and you can get right back to enjoying the vehicle as it should be. Let me know if this works for you.

Sounds like you need a reflash of the ECM.

Hi, did you ever get this problem fixed with the power locks not working properly?

I have a friend who is having the same problem, but he's in the UK so taking it to a chevy dealer is not possible.
