Impatient
So, since I am so impatient and cannot wait to save $2500.00 for headers and exhaust, I decided today to do a "muffler delete"......AWESOME!!!!! The sound is outstanding but I really don't like the "popping" coming out of gears or as the RPMs are falling. I know there is a video with a muffler delete and a Magnaflow "X" pipe but I searched and cannot find it. If I add a Magnaflow X pipe will that take care of the "popping" or do I need a tune?

Are you talking about the typical Magnaflow x-pipe or the mufflered Magnaflow x-pipe?

I'm not sure. On the video it only mentioned a "Magnaflow X pipe with muffler delete". I love the sound, which "X" pipe should I use too keep the sound the same? Which will reduce the "popping" the best?

heres a qoute from JUICEDSS
"I did the muffler delete and added a magnaflow tru-x pipe. I think it sounds great. It is definitely louder than stock, but not obnoxious. I commute 100 miles a day, and at cruising speeds the exhaust is barely audible. Also, I have not noticed any drone. However, there is increased popping on decel, but I think that is generally the case with the majority of aftermarket systems on these cars. I highly recommend this setup if you want a great sounding exhaust at a very affordable price.I purchased the x-pipe from summit for around $90.00, and had my local exhaust shop weld everything up for another $150.00. "X" pipe ordered from Autoanything for $83.00 with free shipping. The shop that did the muffler delete told me they will only charge me $30.00 bucks to remove "H" pipe and weld in the "X" pipe. Total exhaust cost = $210.00 start to finish, sure beats $2,500.00 for the same result.......I'm sure my system won't make Dyno numbers like other systems, but it sounds good to me and that's all that matters. Thanks for all the feedback guys....
