loss of power while driving

I have 3,000 miles on my v6 1LT. Two days ago while backing out of a parking spot my 2010 camaro lost all power. i was able to restart right away. i called OnStar and asked them to run a diagnostic. they were unable to detect a problem.

this AM while driving about 30 mph i lost power again. i was able to restart the car. i called OnStar again and they found no problem.

my car is now at the dealership and they are unable to find a problem.

HELP!!!! has anyone else had this problem????

In the past, a bad alternator would cause this type of instance. And it would start again after sitting for a minute. The reason it stalls is because the alternator wasn't running the vehicle electrical system, the battery was. Once it stalls, the battery is enough to start it again and will run until the electrical system demands something the battery can't make up for. I could be wrong since these new cars are all computer controlled but this was my first thought when you explained the issue.

Just shooting in the dark of course.... but does your car have remote start? I'm thinking something with that or the ignition kill in security system. Just a guess though.

I had that same thing happen to me with about 500 miles on my LT. Did the same and called OnStar and nothing, hasn't done it since ...

I wonder if something is wrong with the chip in your key... I think that might cause the same problem.

thanks for the suggestions. i'll forward them to the dealer.

no mods at all. no remote start.

dealer had my car all weekend. the car's computer is not giving them any history codes so that they can pinpoint the problem.

they want me to pick up the car with out having found the problem much less fixing it. now i'm afraid to drive her.

Try to use your second key and see if problem persists.

Mine has never done this. It has failed to start on the first attempt three timesin 6500 miles. and when it fails on the first, it also fails on the second, and the third starts it

so the dealer was unable to find the problem w/ my car stalling. so i contacted GM customer relations. they put a district specialist on the case and gave the dealer a list of items to check in the car. they were unable to find anything wrong.

they released the car back to me and gave me a check list of questions to answer the next time my car stalls out on me. i guess i'll answer the questions if i'm not dead . . .

drive the car around in a safe area. and see if it dies. and if it does. then you got yourself a problem.
