They're definately ugly and heavy. That's enough of a reason to get rid of them.
But the claims of 17hp by removing them is ridiculous. Thats nothing but dyno witchcraft.

that means that the mirror is 38.75% the size of the vertical windshield...
it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

Exactly.

Are there REALLY that many Camaro customers who don't want a little rumble in their exhaust? Don't know why GM made them so quiet.

I have mentioned this a few times on a few threads, Stock mufflers FLOW, there is nothing wrong with them for PERFORMANCE reasons, Sure they are ugly and heavy but they FLOW. There is no way muffler delete can give to any DECENT HP gains!!

Let's see a resonator cutaway and dynos with and without resonators with NO CHANGE in dyno setup between runs.

Airflow has to be going in and out of the holes and in and out of the big tin cans. you cant push air into that can, then back inline with the pipe withoutcausing restricted flow. Just not possible! Take a 20 oz coke bottle( exhaust pipe) and try to blow in it ( air returning from tin can) while you squeeze the bottle ( exhaust from engine). Not exactly straight thru design huh?

Just found this out from my shop Sorry Did not get pic. But he had a resonator he cut off one last week. it is stright through design wavey pipe but stright through. The part I though odd was no crossing "X" it was 2 pipes stright through.

Also in the Muffler on the bottom side of the can not cut open os a Take Off Pipe "S" or Dog leg'ed whitch is to catch Certan Frequences and cancel them out.

$0.02

So for I plan on having my Stock Modified with a "X" Pipe and mofified Muffler Cans. Headers to come later. Along with FI.

I know the answer .. because what your working on will sound and look MUCH better ..

What prize do I win???

Plus, isn't there resonators in the muffler area as well? Should be a change in sound for sure .. maybe a little HP to be gained as well.

If you just want to get rid of oversized cans, the GM performance exhaust kit looks to do the job. It looks to be axle back but will work for me at $691.

I put a Corsa Catback exhaust on my L99 and it looks and sounds 100 times better then that goofy stock exhaust. It sounds like a muscle car now instead of a Toyota Camary....
