I'm pretty sure, now, that transmissions will not be an issue on the Z28, or any GM vehicle in the future.

I just got back from the GM Powertrain Show on Aug 6th, and had a tour of the engine plant, in St. Catherines, Ont. What an amazing facility, during the tour we were told that a lot of investment is going into that plant for expansion, of engines, and to produce transmissions as well (next 2-3yrs).
(sorry cameras were not allowed in the plant, no pics).

They don't want to or they can't? I'm just curious because we have a couple of local dealers that have two of them sitting there! They are Nice cars, but dealer greed (markups) kills the sales of some of these cars!

We had a local Chevy dealer that when the Camaro's first came out, wanted $3k over sticker for them (some were even worse as far as price gouging). I just laughed at them and said that I'll be back in a year or so and get a used one for a healthy discount off of new! I won't be looking at a Z28 from them.

As far as the A6 trans, the CTS-V that John Heinricy set the Nurburgring record with was an automatic trans car, so I couldn't see the reason for not having an A6 option in the Z28. Purists can say that the original 67-69 Z28's didn't have an automatic, but they also didn't have a blower on it and countless other things. Times change and if you don't change with them, you end up on a sinking ship! GM can't make everyone happy ( but it seems like they're not going to stop trying, which I applaud. At least they're listening to what peeps want and building the car according to that )

does anyone know if in the spy pics they are testing the "possible z28" against a 2010 or 2011 GT500?

Well...it's at LEAST a '10 by the sheetmetal. But those could be the '10 HID headlight option, or it could be the '11 standard HIDs...I don't know Mustang well enough to say anything beyond that...

But ask yourself...if you were GM. And you want to WIN...which would you test against?

For the millionth time....it is the 2011....it had the narrow stripes which means it has the svt performance pack on it. Welcome to the thread, try reading all the posts first before asking a question.

What do you expect from a guy with a Dodge ram on a Camaro site.. Plus he is from the central part of the country where combines are considered quick....New Z28 will be quick but as always there will be something quicker..
