85 MPH Speed limit in Texas.

FRICKING LOVE IT. Wish I lived there . Keep it up Texas

Too bad you have to pay 6 bucks to use the high way lol.

Texans...remember...9 you're fine 10 you're mine. Keep it to 94

In all honesty though....this is too fast.

I don't think it's too fast... A large portion of highways are now set at 75 mph. And there's a good stretch of highway from San Antonio to El Paso that's set at 80 mph (and few other areas). Compared to other states I've been to, Texas has the best maintained highways and wider lanes and roadside shoulders.

State Highway 130 (a toll road between Austin and San Antonio). It was the first sentence in the link...

85 isn't too fast at all. I've taken plenty of driving vacations, and there are a lot of desolate stretches of interstate out west with very little traffic. If Americans could only get over their love affair with clumsy, top-heavy SUVs as daily drivers, there is no reason the US couldn't have a system similar to the Autobahn, which is the safest major road system in the world, by the way. Sports cars like ours could cruise leisurely at 100+ on open highways no problem if it were allowed.

The news story I saw about it tonight showed a Victory Red 5th Gen driving on the new highway... pretty cool! It will never happen in WA, though...
