You do know the LS7 is....dangerously at its limits, right? In order to get 427cu/in out of a small block, they made the cylinder walls ridiculously thin...

And the LSA is actually a tad cheaper (or the same) than just slapping a supercharger on, too...

Just my .02....

How about 100 electric?!!! Carbon fiber body, butterfly doors, full dashboard HUD, built in pc, hidden radar detector in dash front and back, voice command system including start up, knight rider strobe lights, and hydrolics since carbon fiber body takes a load off, and Enderly injection blower for aesthetis

Updated poll...

I'm in for a hybrid. I agree that forged pistons should be acceptable for Z28 because I don't think many are going to complain if there's a little more noise on cold start-up. I'd like the confidence of knowing there are forged slugs in the engine so I can crank up the power a little more. I don't think it'd hurt to upgrade the rod bolts and if there are some through GMPP, I can't see that there'd be too great an expense for that change. Finally, throw on the 2300 from the 'Vette. Though it looks like the LSA Intercooler/Supercharger assembly will fit fine under the hood, it looks like LS9 will too. It'd be nice to have a little more headroom, power-wise too. I think it'd help position the power level to more between LSA and LS9, which I think would be nice too. It sounds like the GT500 is going to be upgrading in the next couple years, and we know the weight of Z28 wouldn't get much better if GM goes with an SC'd engine, so maybe getting closer to 600 FWHP would insure it stays ahead of the 500. However, if it adds to cost, considerably, just leave the LSA as-is, with the 1900.
LSA... small displacement, large horsepower... keeping in sync with the original Z28 philosophy. If it came with the LS7 then to me it would sound more "SS" than "Z28"... but that is just me and my old school thinking.

There's nothing wrong with old school. There are a few old school members here who I have the highest respect for

OK how about this......slap a couple more cylinders on the DI V-6. The
V-6 makes roughly 1.43 HP per CI. Let's assume we make the same numbers with two more cylinders. 8X36.1=289.3X1.43=413.7 HP.
I could live with that.
OH...and take five hundred pounds out of it.

So - end up with less power and take this weight out from where?...
