Question HPE Cold air intake

What do you guys think of the HPE cold air intake for the V6?

http://www.hennesseyperformancestore.com/v6.html

I heard that the Airaid reduced the performance of the v6 after installation, I was wondering if the HPE did the same or was it good?

After the debacle with Airaid I wouldn't buy any intake that you haven't seen private dyno results on. Independent testing so far says Injen is the way to go.

What about K&N? There testing was something like 16 HP.

It seems odd that any cai could reduce performance?

Very odd.... yet independent testing showed the numbers. Airaid said they are working on a redesign.

For the little good it does and what little there is of it, I find CAIs way overpriced.

From the looks of that picture it does not appear that when the hood is closed that the box is sealed. The area where the tube enters the box will have hot air entering the box from the engine bay. Of course I could be wrong, but I don't see how you could get a good seal.

That's not a true cold air intake, and K&N's gains are only at very high rpm's, go with the Injen CAI for $200 cheaper, it works.
