TAG is the first FE4 / 5 to be Pedderised. We did a reto fit on the rear arms for his THR 2010. He left with a track setup on his daily driver.
Dampers Front 26 / 4 off full hard Rear 15 / the same either way Alignment Front Camber -2.3 Front Tor OUT .5 Rear Camber -2.5 Rear Toe IN .20 Front Bar -- Full Hard Rear FE4 / 5 Bar -- Not Adjustable Tire Pressure 32 cold. TAG already had Pedders 27/27 sways, endlinks, sub-frame inserts, radius bushes and lowering coils. Pedders rear camber and toe bolts were required to get the alignment specs we desired. We did add rear lower inner control arm bushes and Xa coilovers. I hope he enjoyed his drive home. We'll find out soon enough. |

I've been telling Doug. "you need to get coilovers".
Guess I was right.

Geez, where to start...
I thought I already had a pretty good set up. That is...after we made the first upgrades. Holy....shhhh...... yeah, it was good... I have seen quite a few cars that handled like they were "on rails," but never did I think I'd own one of them myself. I remember watching the guys over at Harris Hills breeze around the corners with so much more speed and they just stuck to the ground. Woosh....there they went. Then here comes Doug at 87(ish) coming around a corner with the tires breaking loose....EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!E!E!E!E!E!!!!!!EEEEEKK KK!!!! "Why can't this thing TURN! GAH!" Understeer like a MOTHER. Front slides out and just won't catch! Drives me NUTS. I chalk it all up to owning a 4,000lb monster. Ok. No problem. I just have to watch my speed in/speed out of the corners. Sure, it would really move through the twisties, but it wouldn't compare to the other race ready cars out there (which is who I wanted to run with). The weight in this car was easily felt. Fast forward to today. You see... all the upgrades already in place and then the XA's added today along with the rear 32mm sway and LCA's (with upgraded bushes)...well, totally different story. I knew the ride was going to be better. I mean, hey...putting on coilovers. SUWEEET. But WHO IN THE HELL SAID THEY COULD MAKE MY CAR TURN ON A FREAKING DIME?!?! This is NOT cool! All I want to do is take EVERY corner as QUICKLY as I can just to see how fast I can go!!! No...no. I will be good. I have to be. I can't go getting myself in trouble. Therefore, I will not divulge stories on what my car can or can not do. No hairpin 97 mph hard cornering stories as that would be against site rules. But, I will say this. This 4,000lb BEAST can EASILY be made to turn like a 1,500lb track star. After having driven this car for 2 1/2 years, I have to say I know this car pretty well. I know what it can and can't do. But, I have to learn it all over again. This new set up is KILLER. I mean it is AGGRESSIVE. All I can think about is getting back out to the track to see how well it compares to the previous set up. This thing is STELLAR. And before we go on with the pix, first I must give a HUGE THANK YOU to Pete for everything he's done in helping me get set up. You, kind sir, are an amazingly wonderful person. I can't, simply can't, thank you enough. |
