Ice Warning question
Just curious what's initiates the icy road conditions warning on the dashboard? Is it simply the outside temperatures or is the car sensing wheel slip? We don't ice up much in San Antonio but in the mornings my car has been warning about possible ice.

Temp based warning. 32 Degrees Fahrenheit is freezing. It may just warn you at a pre set temp though and not necessarily exactly freezing temp.

Pretty sure it pops up anytime the temp goes 37 or below, no matter the conditions (Ice/rain outside). Not set off by wheel slip.

Mine comes on when the dash reads 37 degrees. Be careful if you still have the factory
P/zeros on. Below 40 they are scarry.

Mine do. I have only had my SS for 3 months. In fact tomorrow is my anniversary. lol But here in SC it's only gotten cold twice and it was like 27 this morning. The tires actually had no grip pulling out of my driveway. It felt like you were driving the car from the Flintstones.

It's 37 degrees. Do the V6's get different tires? Because I live in colorado and have the stock tires and Ive never once had an issue in the snow with them. They do get hard as rocks which makes it VERY bumpy and I wasn't sure why it was so bad. But, yeah no issues in the snow, all my friends and family are baffled that I drive around in a camaro with 6 inches of snow on the ground. This car is actually one of my better snow cars lol.

The Nitto INVO tires I have on my car seem to handle the cold better than my P-Zeros did.

37 degrees.
In my experience, P-Zeros are OK down to at least 30 degrees on dry roads, for every day driving. |
