Garaging a Camaro
When I arrived at home my engine temp was 201 F. I then parked my car inside the garage. My question is, do you let your car sit outside cool down then park it in the garage. Is there a benifit to waiting?

It is better in my opinion. Keeps the sun off it so it can cool faster. Also, my garage is climate controlled. If my car is too hot, I pop the hood and let it breath in the nice cool air.

No it won't make a difference. Pop your hood in your garage if you're really that concerned.

Do you mean water temp or oil temp?
Either way, it doesn't really matter unless you're running a turbo. If you run a turbo car hard, it's not good to shut off a turbo (and all oil circulation) if it's just been run hard. Newer vehicles have an automatic cooling pump for the turbo that runs after the car is shut off to aid in cooling it down (older turbos...usually you let the car idle for 30 seconds or so before shutting it off) If you need to cool the engine quicker (like if you're going to change the oil relatively soon), pop the hood with the engine shut off and let the heat escape with the garage door open. |

If it were running hot for some reason, I would let it idle until it "cooled down", then garage it. Probably harder on the engine to re-start it, just for a few more feet.
