Sometimes when I start the radio switches to AM

Let me rephrase ...
Sometimes when I start the car up, the radio is in AM mode.
I would say 4-5 times its fine, then boom ... switched

Anyone know why this happens?

I "always" have a USB in that has a lot of music on it.
Sometimes randomly I start the car and it switches to AM radio and I need to switch back to USB and it takes a minute to read the damn thing.

Just a nuisance but it drives me nuts as I don't know why it is random.
I dont leave stuff in the compartment so its not like the USB resets or anything.

Mine does the same thing. There should be a setting. I just have't look to see if there is one.

Nothing wrong with that. Especially if it is on around 12:06 PM EST.

Every time I turn my car on, it starts the navigation. Could never figure it out to turn it off. My link does weird things.

So my 13 ZL1 had the SAME issue. I called GM's MyLink support and they had me do a full reset through the menu and delete any "stored routes".

After that it was 100% ok.

Hope that helps!

Maybe the car wants you to listen to the traffic report first?

mine switches from the Usb to the FM stations, I did a full reset, but it didn't take long to start doing it again. now I just live with it and switch it back, it only does it about 1 out of every 10 starts.

About every tenth time I touch the volume button on the MyLink, it changes either changes from USB to AM, or it skips a song. It's buggy as all get out.

Mine messes up sometimes also.
It skips songs, then sometimes when I select a song on USB it plays a different song; and Ill have it on a song when I exit the car, and it will be on an entirely different song next time I get in the car.

If I pull the USB drive for a little while it corrects itself.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the 1700 songs on my usb drive.

If I turn off the car when I am listening to Bluetooth, the radio always goes to AM when I restart the car.
I would rather it go back to the last station prior to Bluetooth (XM).

MyLink is a bag of hurt. I experience the same issues with the radio randomly switching sources (from USB to AM). My work around is to always power off the radio manually before turning off the ignition. This seems to help a lot.

MyLink is such a frustration for me, I will seriously consider trading my 2013 ZL1 for a future ZL1 if it has Apple CarPlay or Android Auto enabled.
