Cold Air Inductions

Anyone use a socket wrench to connect the filter to the intake tube, want it secure?

Have your wife tighten it for you. Mine does not move even if I pull on it.

My son tried the same too, yet seems once the intake tube heats up the air filter slides right off. Will try again tonight yet leaning towards Super Glue before tightening up the clamp.
The how will you remove to clean?

Spray the end of the tube with hairspray and let it sit for a 30 seconds or so, then install the filter and tighten the clamp. Once you have done that let it sit for 15-20 min. should be secured, worked for me anyway.

Does the hair spray act to dry out the metal intake tube/end rubber portion to the air filter where they both connect?

Ok. I'll try that tonight and thank you for the tip.

Tighten it once it's hot and you shouldn't have that issue.

Hairspray is a great idea as well though. I use it all the time on intercooler charge piping couplings; helps lube to get it on and acts like glue when it drys.

Best regards,

Tyler

Will do this tonight, heat the pipe and use hair spray rather than Super Glue.
Do the hair spray trick, wait a half hour or so, then go for a little drive. When you get home, re-tighten the clamp.

Best regards,

Tyler

Hair spray or motorcycle grip glue but the latter will take more effort to remove. Or call them and try to get a new filter under warranty, probably a bad mold on the plastic or got stretched out.

With the intake hot after driving did the hair spray trick. Next, used a screw driver and then a socket wrench on the air filter clamp which enabled an additional few more turns too.

Even pulling on the intake filter now it did not budge or slip at all. Completely secure and most of all a socket wrench seemed to help considerably.
Thanks again for the advice, helped out.
