^You got that right. I put that little edition on my 4th Gen as I don't want to be forced to have to go into ANY gear. After all, it's not like I can't still shift from 1st to 4th to save on gas! I am just not forced to do it.

Never installed the sse on the 95. Mine never really comes on. Might have something to do with the way I drive! (see below)

my camaro will be...*drumrolls* automatic :( i'm manual illiterate... i read about paddleshifters..neat i'd like to learn that, and i'd like to learn manual, but being honest i have no idea how...you guys should enlighten us who dont know how to drive a stick, give us a lesson or tell us the basics, i'd love to learn to drive a stick shift car.

You really have to do it yourself. I mean, we can tell you all about it - but...it's different when you're behind the wheel.

Basically, it's Clutch in/gas out, shift. Ease the Clutch out/ease the the gas in. Every time you shift. And once you get good - it helps to attempt to match the revs, though you should try to do it from the get-go.
But there's definitely more to it than that.

I've done manual once. I've read my eyeballs out about it - and I really hope to do it again before my Camaro, I want to actually learn how to do it....but I'll be test-driving manual AND auto to see which I like better before I buy.

Find somebody that has a stick and tell them to take you to a good hill and use the clutch as a break then you can get use to the clutch just go back and forth untill you get the hang of it.

It will take all of about 10 minutes to learn. If you learned how to walk, you can use a manual transmission.

My step brother learned how to do manual in ... 10 minutes maybe too. It's not hard at all. Getting reaaaaalllly good at it takes a little while...maybe a couple days to a week. But, it's not like you're killing the tranny while doing it. My bro stalled out once when driving my SS.

We took it to a parking lot and I showed him how easy it was to take off in 1st gear w/out even using the gas pedal....and then how to shift into second still w/out using the gas pedal. You could easily get into 3rd gear as well, but it takes a little longer to get up to speed. Basically, your engine wants to get up to it's idling 900 to 1,000 RPM's and can't because you are going too slow in a certain gear. So, the torque of the engine trying to get up to that higher idling RPM will push the car forward getting it up to a slow speed....enough to get into the next gear.

It's so easy to drive stick. You'll get a quick feel for how the clutch and gas pedal go as you start and stop (as well as shift gears). The most important part is take off...you don't want to scratch the gears.

I still have to learn. We have a 1971 Super Beetle with a stick shift, but I'd like to learn on something a little more powerful before stepping up to the Camaro.

ok thats it!! i'm inspired!! i am officially in the maket for a stick shift car,i'd love to keep it and drive it theese 2 years and learn it and the decide which i like best for my camaro, thank you guys..i'll let you guys know as soon as i buy it

hey im new to this site and this is my first post. So anyways the c6 corvette is available with paddle shifters (not the Z06). Any idea whether or not this will be an available option on the Camaro?
