Aftermarket Spoiler for 1LT (non-RS)

Any reason why this would be a bad idea?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33638

The underside of my trunk lid has rubber grommits that look like the place the bolts would go for the spoiler.

Has anyone else added a 3rd party spoiler and have any tips/warnings?

Thanks.

Man.....if you can wait just a little bit I might be able to hook you up. I'm getting a VR that is scheduled to be here at the end of Feb or begining of March. There is a real good chance I'll have an NLP spoiler waiting on it so I can go get it striped as soon as I get the car. I can then make you a really nice deal on a factory VR spoiler.

Not only that it looks like we might be able to meet up somewhere and not deal with shipping.

PM me if you want and I'll keep you posted.

I installed the NLP spoiler that uses the factory mounting locations and yes the 4 rubber gromets are the outside mounting locations. They sent a paper template to mark the holes but if I did it again I think it's just as easy removing the gromets and mark a circle with a sharpie and drill up thru the lid in the center with a pilot bit and then back down with the proper sized clearance bit.

From there you can measure to the center 2 locations. You need to remove 4 of the plastic fasteners that hold the lid pad along with the trunk latch cover to pull down on the pad to get to these locations. Don't drop any of the spioler nuts.

Here's some pics of my install.

It looks like it's pretty easy but I'll probably take it to a local body shop for installation. I'm all thumbs...

I have an LS and I bought an factory spoiler on ebay for $119.00, it was flawless and I had my chevy dealership install it and everything turned out awesome. Now i have stripes on car as well going over the spoiler. You should look up autowingandspoiler on ebay, thats who it brought from.
