couponing????

ok sitting here watching Extreme couponing on TLC (ok its almost 2am & I cant sleep, due to lack of inactivity (due to out of work due to a back injury))

OK my question is why buy diapers if you dont have kids? Why buy 1000 tubes of Toothpaste, buy what you need, I mean its ok if you know you are going to use it thats one thing, or if you are going to donate it thats another.

I am going to start trying to do some of it, that way the $300 every other shopping bill will go lower.

OK so I watch odd things when I cant sleep lol

My Aunt does that... one of her rooms in her house she calls the store. Every time we visit her we end up leaving with several boxes of stuff she ended up getting for free. I don't get it, I think she just loves to shop.

Resale. Some people can make a lot of money by putting this stuff on Ebay, Craigslist or even flea markets. This is far more common with clearance fiends.

My wife and I have been watching this show and I have the same opinion as the OP. If you're going to use it then it's fine, but hundreds or thousands of boxes of things you only need once every few months is too much (even if it is free). My wife, on the other hand, is trying to get into this. She's done alright, but now we have a small stockpile of things like body wash, razors and things like that. I told her she has to focus on the food next time.

My best friends wife has started this about a month or so ago and its starting to get crazy. Every time I talk to him on the phone she's in the background wanting him to tell me how much crap she got for nearly nothing. He even thinks she's crazy, but he said he will never run out of deoderant , body wash or toothpaste!

I've been watching this with my wife too and it's amazing what they get. She said it was cool when they donated and I said yeah it is but if you get $800 worth of stuff for free like the dude tonight did and don't donate you're an asshole.

I would love to be set up with full supplies like that and to be able to help people with it.

that stuff's pretty crazy. I knew a kid in High School that's dad did that.... he'd get $900-1000 worth of stuff for just a few dollars.... sometimes he'd even find a way to get money back! I've seen some of those guys that do it and give it away to the homeless or to military/redcross type places.

Id say it depends on the store and you. If every customer did that, I bet they would change the rules.

Have read a thread once about target getting upset that daily this guy used a coupon to get 2 big packages of Oreos for $1.78 [lord knows why he needed so many so often] you can still find this coupon online and still actively used by folks. But he pushed the limits. Its one of those print your own coupons.
And they called it coupon abuse n banned him from the store after a while.

That's a lawsuit if he wanted to pursue it.

Then all the money he saved would go to the lawyer, regardless of whether he wins.

My wife started doing it a few years ago ...grocery bill went from $250 every 2 weeks to maybe $150 so it was a nice savings. She stopped doing it but I heard her say the other day that she wants to start doing it again. I say why not, just don't over do it.
