I hope it comes in lower but this car is gonna be a beast and GM knows that. Just don't see it being any cheaper than $65k. Especially with the 10spd it will probably be over $65k. I would guess the 10spd auto will be at least a $2000 option.

I wonder when they will release pricing? Maybe right after Indy 500, sometime in June?
Man, I hope you're wrong. I really want one of these new Z's but I'm not paying over 60 for it with the options I want. I can snag a loaded 13 Z06 for low 50's. The more I see these crazy price guesses the more I think about going this route.

I don't think that's going to happen.

Sticker was 57k for my ZL1 with a few options in 2012....

1) The 10 speed transmission is GM's next evolution in drivetrain...while new, it's not rare or "special" in that they're planning to put it in 8 or 10 (I forget) vehicles by 2018. While the 8 speed was more expensive than the 6 speed was more expensive than the 4....this one was developed together with Ford. It might not be terribly expensive....I hope.

2) The new ZL1 will be the same formula as the last gen. I'm actually impressed at how remarkably similar it is...just raised to a new level. They won't be price gouging just because they know they can...it's a Camaro, and no matter how expensive the equipment is, a Camaro is a Chevrolet, and Chevrolets offer bang-for-your-buck value.

3) The rest of the Camaro lineup got about 6%-7% more expensive vs the outgoing cars, equipped similarly. So did Stingray. Despite both including much more advanced features and equipment. If you apply that increase to the ZL1...the price guesstimate is hovering around $60k....

...fingers crossed.

Yeah hopefully since this 10spd auto was developed with Ford it will not be as expensive as I am thinking it will. We shall see

I didn't mean to sound like GM is going to price gouge us with the new ZL1 and have never thought that. I just meant they will price it according to its performance and cool factor.

I really hoping it will be in the low $60's like I originally guessed. If it is anything much over $65k it will be out of my price range. But with the Hellcat Starting around $64k. The ZL1 will offer more performance than the hellcat. Gonna be interesting to see what GM prices the ZL1 at.

OK but MSRP and what you paid are 2 different things right? My 1LE sticker was 41K. I didn't pay anywhere close to that. If the ZL1 starts at $58k (3000 more than in '15 like the SS models increase) I should be able to get recaros and auto which is all I want and come in around 60 before taxes and all mthat garbage. If it starts at $65K like people are guessing I'm out.

Well, yes. I wasn't sure what you were referring to, exactly.

Recaros are included...I'm sure that'll be reflected in the price...Assume a "worst case" of $2000 for the auto...and pray that the auto escapes the $1300 gas guzzler tax.

I suppose it's possible.

Yes hopefully the ZL1 will escape the GG tax with the 10spd. I'm betting it will not have the GG tax.

I'm sure at first the ZL1 will sell at sticker price and no discounts will be available. So you will probably pay full MSRP for the car. Hopefully they won't be any crazy dealer markup but I'm sure some dealers will that is for sure. Then after a while we will be able to get them at a better deal once the hype dies down.

Here we go again. These are basically the very same comments posted before the Camaro SS pricing was officially announced. Many already knew the price, wrong. Knew the equipment, wrong. Knew the colors, wrong. I know it's painful, but perhaps we should wait until it's official. However, I guess that wouldn't be any fun.

Come over here and enjoy our 13% GST..
On a $60K ZL1 that would be $7800 in tax.
