Impossible question... I voted 2010, merely because my favorite year for the 1st gen is '68

The 69 is definitely the cooler car.

Deciding which one to buy really depends on what you want out of it.
You can probably get into a 69 for less money, but you will probably have to put some work into it. They are much easier to work on but will require more maintenance.

The 2010 will be a brand new car... it will cost more, but it will have a full factory warranty.

If you are looking for a cool car, you can't go wrong with either choice. I chose the 2010 because it was going to be my daily driver. I'd still love to get a 69 sometime down the road.

Both are the coolest but in different categories. Love both.

CA DMV would not approve my first choice for a vanity plate "THINK 69", so now I'm trying "1969N10".

The 2010 will get you a lot of looks, but probably nowhere near as much as the '69. I'm eventually going to rebuild a '69 and paint it ABM to match my 5th Gen.

The 2010 is pretty bad a$$ but really anyone can go get one at a dealer and they will make more. You cant do that with a '69. This is my argument for finishing my '69 and not running to the dealer for a 2010 (as much as I want one...).

I personally would rather own a 2010-- but that is because I am not a gear head, and I think when you buy a classic you need to really know what you are doing.

But I won't deny the 69 is a beauty.

'69 is way cool, but this is going to be a first car for a new driver 2010 will be much safer in every way (handling, braking, and, hopefully not, an accident)and more dependable. When you want to get in and drive it won’t be an issue. I just spent about 5 hours of my weekend working on one of my cars and it is a well maintained ’95. Age is an enemy of cars and a ’69 is 41 years old, I didn’t like how some of the suspension bushings looked on my ’95 while I was under it today. If you buy a ’69 and it wasn’t done right you could end up with BIG problems and out A LOT of cash. There are a lot of people trying to sell crap at a market price. If your pop is well experienced with restorations/builds and this is going to be a joint endeavor then go for it but, if it’s a matter of your parents have decided to help you buy a car with X amount of dollars go with the 2010. I think you will be better off.
