Scion tC side airbags will deploy if you shut the door too hard.

Seriously?! My friend has one of those. She traded her 2000 Firebird to it...

I never noticed this but would this be storage like on the new malibu? Because i did notice that there was no storage. I dont think it really looks like its in the right place but it could be the part of the dash for Heads Up Display? Ideas?

That cant be for a HUD since its not in the drivers line of sight, thats the whole point of having one. You look forward and see what you need, having to look to the side is almost as bad as looking down.

Looks like the same old vents for defrost on the windshield like I have on my 4th Gen. I'd like to think it's possibly for HUD, but don't think that's the case.

no.....I don't think so - check it out:

Doesn't the thing in the blue look like defrost vents? And IF we get a HUD, the projector will be embedded in the dash behind the main gauges (see green arrow)

Usually, the defroster is centered on the windshield (don't know why!!! It needs to hit the entire window!). But, hey...I dunno. Just looks like a vent to me.

Looks like that to me, too...I figured I'd point out the longer vent anyways just because...

Maybe it's a pop-up nav and/or control center.

Hey, maybe someone is finally getting smart saying let's put the defroster all the way across the windshield. Sure it a possiblity.

Dragoneye, it's possbile! That would be awesome if that's the HUD where your green arrow is pointing! I so hope so!

As soon as I saw the CTS interior shots in a thread, it dawned on me that the flat panel area you are asking about looked almost exactly like the top of the nav unit in the CTS pics.
