It may have something to do with the 2.92 rear end. The LS was designed to get the best gas mileage. The rs cars don't have the same gas mileage as the non rs cars and it has something to do with the staggered wheels.

I don't know about the 2LS cars (or whatever the gas saver one is called) but I know for a fact that there are some older LS V6ers running the RS 20s. Lots and lots of them.

The regular LS is the same as before.

I dont see the Auto RS and the Auto LS as being any different. I believe the transmission is the same and the rear is the same in the 2010 - 2011 Models. I think production costs would prohibit this.

Ya I only know this to be true on the 2012s. I think people are in denial about how much they changed on the 2012s, they made so many small changes.

If the OP has the 2.92 rear end, then he has 2LS. Since that trim was designed to give a little extra fuel economy, it makes sense (in a sick, perverted way) that it wouldn't have a Sport Mode.

It makes me wonder if the 1LS still has sport mode in 2012 or if they even offer the original LS trim.

HUD really doesn't interest me but the adjustable passanger seat is a big plus.

I was just checking my 2012 broshure and it clearly states that the Tap-shift automatic transmission is included with a 2LS Camaro. This was on the Camaro overview.

Hrrrmmm....but that should mean it has sport mode...maybe?

Does it have "D" and "M" shift modes? "M" should be sport mode and should hold gears longer than D.

That would be really strange if Chevy still left the "M" mode and left the manual shifting, but removed the different code for sportier automatic shifting.

When I posted in this thread earlier...I assumed it only had D and not M.

When you shift into M, the S does not appear in the DIC, however manually tap shifting up to M6 before driving seems to have the same effect of normal sport mode on other camaros, or so I've heard, didn't try that when I test drove the 2LS

More than sports mode the tap shift is what I use...I'd definitely miss the Tap Shift...

In 2010-2011 there were only LS, 1LT, 2LT and then the RS option . . . with the 2012 there is a 1LS and a 2LS as well? Why change something that's not broken? /confused
