Stickier tires could make a bit of a difference in 0 to 60 times... you know, getting out of the hole quicker like when we were in high school.

For the bucks...clearly the best 5th Gen yet. Did anyone see the comparo with the ZL1 against the Beamer 6 series convertibles. Dang....12.7 is the best they could do with the ZL, but they chose the Camaro as the better car.

What's the deal with the references to the trans cooler? My 2010 M6 has a trans cooler unless those two hard lines that go from the trans to the bottom of the rad are something different? What am I missing?
Cool article too btw.

I think there is a distinct difference between a track car and rce car. The ZL1 is a track car which is why it is designed to perform on the street too. Besides, most race cars are NA, not supercharged so IMO if i were builing a race car a ZL1 would not be my choice to build from. An SS or now the 1lE would be better.

I agree. It must be the sticky tires and higher gear ratio. Makes sense it would be quicker than the SS.

Keep in minds GM was trying to get the 1LE into the SCCA and you can't go into any race series with active suspensions on your camaro. I am glad we don't get the MR, costs less, cheaper replacement parts etc.
