Not true at all...I have been married for 20 years and credit scores are based on the individual and not the marriage.

That is a totally different story and can go many different ways based on what and who all is involved.

This is not true. However, if one person has bad credit and the other one has good credit, I would keep the finances separate. If they're both good or both bad, put your money together.

Here's another tip: Always talk. My wife and I have been married for a couple years and together for almost 5. 0 fights so far. Disagreements? Yes. Yelling Can we annoy each other? Yes. Always speak your mind, and choose your words wisely. It will make your relationship much stronger. The minute you stop talking about things that piss each other off is the minute that your marriage starts tanking.

It does not matter if you keep your finances together or seperate. Credit has nothing to do with that. If you share a bank account they will not stop anyone from making a purchase on credit.

With 25 years of experience I would say learning how to agree to disagree and find common ground when you just don't see eye to eye on something is important. Also don't forget you have to give a little to get a little.

If you apply for a home loan together you can apply for joint credit if you're both co-borrowers. You can also keep your credit separate if you wish.
