Hope for those still looking.

So much is said and complained about on this site about bad experiences with dealers. You almost see a post daily. I myself have had terrible ones, but there are good ones out there. I had all but given up hope when I happened to come across a post made by Banshee(other user) on here. This post restored my confidence in my fellow man, when I contacted this dealer he was willing to work with me on the pricing meaning I would pay less than MSRP. I personally qualified for supplier or college grad but no one would honor it. A fair deal, something we could both walk away happy. I’m number 8 on the allotment list , Banshee is number 6, and Carfansince73 is 9( I referred him). We don’t know each other and before this we had never met/chatted with the dealer, but we share a few things in common were paying bellow MSRP. Were also happier than words can describe, I’m sure the other users here that have bought from him share the same sentiment. He’s willing to ship directly your order from the factory to a dealer near you, or to one of their Chevy dealerships at no extra cost. He will also take discounts and incentives if issued by GM. I’m only doing this to reward him for being a good person there’s no kickbacks or any other incentive. Too many times the good guys get the short end of the stick so this is my chance to help you guys/gals and him at the same time. If you can, please mention my user name so that he knows good deeds pay off in the dealer profession but if you don‘t that’s ok. So to everyone else that has ordered please be understanding with those who have not and are still looking. I mean to say don’t jump down anyone’s throat or mine for this post. All I’m offering is some guidance and my experience with this dealer. I know there’s a section for it, but allot of those dealers are out of allotments and or charging MSRP plus fees. So it really isn’t MSRP. Not to mention the list is overwhelming, so this may simplify things for some of you.

Fireresq157 :FYI last I heard there were still 4 left out of the 13, here is his info.

I wanted to say thanks to fireresq157 for putting me in touch with Matt at Garber Chevrolet. I was not having the best luck finding anyone in my area offering MSRP and/or accepting any GM discounts. After chatting with Matt, I ended up putting down a deposit yesterday for a SIM/Black 1SS RS, Hurst, sunroof, BA sound sys. Matt was accepting supplier pricing so that right there saved me about $1,700!! That's going towards the intake/exhaust or maybe towards a nice MP1900.

Even though Matt is in Michigan, he is going to have the car dropshipped to another Garber Chevy dealership just 10 minutes from my house.

I can't believe I am now one those members who can say they placed an order. I am just anxiously waiting for the next update to my order.

I've spoken to Banshee on the phone, and he's a very stand up guy. Glad he referred you guys over. I haven't ordered yet....still trying to decide what to do, but good to know there are dealers out there willing to "deal".

Matt is the man..

I am glad all this went well with my purchase..

My partner at work is #7 I think..and we got a total of 4 or 5 Camaros sold by Matt Kennedy from the original thread.

Not taking credit for Matt getting 4 additional sales.. But he should take credit for being up front, honest, dependable and doing what he said he promised!

Talked to Matt today he still has number 12 and 13 available, as stated he honors supplier, Gm College grad, and employee pricing. See above info in post#1.

Since I live 2 hours away, I was apprehensive about buying from a dealer that far away.

My original post that hooked me up with Matt Kennedy..
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12778

I had a "general" purchase agreement within a day and an order number two days later after several well versed emails and quick replies to emails and calls.

Met up with Matt last Tuesday after a 2 hour drive. Talked for about 4 hours..I had been up for 35 hours straight, but made a committment to be there Tuesday to drop a deposit and meet up. I need to say, he gave me 100% attention with no distraction.

I highly suggest someone fill the last two spots he has if you are looking for someone decent and honest.

Matt will honor all special pricing available when your car comes out and will honor incentives and rebates. Past March 16 anything can happen with pricing if you don't lock in. I'm positive it won't go down with 20 thousand + pre sale orders. Don't let the same thing that happened to the Sky and Solstice were there was 3 or more month waiting list to get your car after production started.

The only problem with drop shipping is, the deal is only as good as the receiving dealer...You pay in full or have financing in place and done before deliverywith a GOOD DEALER...and if the car gets POO'd up by the DELIVERING dealer (damage to car, drilled front plate, etc etc...), what a nightmare that becomes.

I think that's why many dealers aren't jumping all over the opportunity.

I know someone at the local dealership that’s being shipped to he’s taken care of me before for same thing. So the drop ship is no problem. I have also bought 4 cars from them in the past. they just could not give me any fixed pricing on the camaro. They were considering as high as 10Gs over MSRP(most of South Florida is way over MSRP). That was not his doing but the owners. So he din't blame me for going elsewhere, in fact he told me to wait till later in the year when their just taking up space like the traverse is. I contacted him and he had no problem, Matt even worked out al the details with him. I honestly think the dealerships that won't give you a fixed price just want to get the cars on the lot. So later you walk away from the 10Gs over MSRP and they can try to sell it for that or something close to it. I know times are tough Scotty but their tough for everyone not just dealers. I should not have to make the month for anyone even if MSRP is probably a fair price in some markets it’s not for me. BTW they have 9 or so dealerships a few of them are Chevy including one in North Florida that would have been my second option to pick it up.
