What if I want Glossy Rally Stripes?

Where is the best place to look that up at? Or do you think having a paint shop paint them on is the best..

Thanks.

Also try vinylgraphics.net or .com whichever. They are much cheaper and have some different options. Nothing wrong with rider i ordered my gill stripes from there but as far a rallys go vinyl cheaper by a long shot and thats probably where i will order mine from.

Personally I'm considering having stripes painted on. Mostly because I'm afraid of how hard it will be to change the viynl stripes 5 or 6 years down the road. They say that within the first year the stripes can come off easily with a hair dryer but after that who knows. So then 5 yrs later you start seeing fading and/or cracking. Try taking them off them. My guess is you would have to have the hood sanded down and re painted. I don't know that, I'm just guessing.

I live in Texas and the sun around here puts a serious hurt on things. So, for me the best thing will probably be to paint them on. The viynl stripes will cost you about $260 and then you'll have to put them on yourself or pay about another $200 - $250 to have someone else put them on. I've been quoted by my paint shop guy $800-$1,200 to paint and clear them on. Knowing my painter it will be at least the $1,200 (maybe more) but it will be done right the first time.

Do you know of any place that I could just get the pattern without buying the actual stripes? I have someone that will do them but she asked (since they've been done by so many people already) if I knew where I could get the actual patterns so she could cut the vinyl herself without laying it all out and doing it from scratch. (I'm getting a custom color).

Go with paint. Easier to deal with in the long run. Cleaning, waxing, repainting, etc.

No problem....

Yea, get two rattle cans of Krylon and a roll of painters tape. You should have it done in about a half hour. All for under $10.

Nah - just bustin' em again....

I have a long while to decide either way I know I don't want the dull finish I want it to Shine. Thanks for the info.

just an FYI. The paint shop will scuff sand your car to pint the stripes on. So you can try out the vinyl and if they start coming off you can paint them. Just a thought.

I will be offering Factory and alternative stripe kits very soon. I am just waiting for a test fit car, Mine is due in in 3 weeks.

Anyway, there are many people offering them, but be weary of "CHEAP" Vinyl cutters. There are many brands and grades of vinyl. They actually rate vinyl with the life span. I use 7-10 year vinyl which is top quality, and I only use top brands (3M, Avery, Oracal, etc.). Metallic colors are generally 5 year due to the material. Vinyl can last longer (it has on my car in the past, especially garaged, weather is a major factor) or less than expected depending on how careful you are and how exposed to the elements they get.

Those that sell vinyl and do not offer this info.......be weary.

The other thing to consider is that better vinyl is actually thinner in a lot of cases. 2mil is great, 3 mil is "USUALLY" the cheap stuff, when it comes to common colors.

The difference you ask. Well I can get vinyl you THINK is great for the first 2 years for about 1/3 the COST of a good quality vinyl.

This post is in now way aimed at anyone mentioned in this thread, strictly a vendor educating the public. PM me for more info.

Of course she wants that. Do you know that the pattern you talk about either costs money to buy or takes a lot of time and test fitting to make sure it is a good product. I will be offering pretty much any and all colors and I will have the patterns test fitted before I do so. If you guys can be a bit patient I will be doing some really cool stuff soon. I am waiting for my own Camaro to test fit on and take pictures. I will be offering many different striping and graphic options. Many which have not been done yet, and offering any color you guys want, including metallics.

I would really love to see how some metallic gold stripes would look on a black Camaro.
