FI Kit Offering Best Weight Distribution, With Lowest IAT for Auto X, Road Race
Normally aspirated is the obvious answer, but I don't want the super lumpy idle, fuel economy going down the toilet on the highway either. Plus the flexibility FI offers for future mods does offer me peace of mind.
Here are the plans and power goals for my 1LE in order to help the gurus here guide me on the proper path. I'll be more than happy with no more than 600 flywheel(yes I said flywheel)HP, the car will be driven hard on a road course 3-4 times a year, in the middle of hot summer, and the rest of the time, just cruisin' the streets. I'm very strict about wanting to maintain my 1LE's handling manners. I understand that anything added to the front may upset this, and that said, I'm therefore looking for a kit that is either the lightest, or perhaps lowest center of gravity? Low IAT's is very important to me as well. I don't care about how good it looks under the hood. Unless I'm forgetting something, I think that's it on my list of demands . What are the gurus recommendations? |

in my opinion the AGP TT kit might fit the bill to the T. I personally road race my C5 a lot and while I prefer a NA setup a well thought out TT kit would fit the bill. No belts to worry about, lower iat's than a pd blower, and much more adjustment and much easier to do so. Have you seen some of our installed pics of the kit? it's a low mount setup and I would love to answer all of your questions regarding it, either via here, email, or a phone call to the shop.

I have already been eyeballing the AGP, on the turbo side of the equation.
Which one from the supercharger list of vendors, would be 1st choice? |

A vortech V3, Novi 1500, or D1SC Procharger.

Those are the 3 centrifugal blowers available, they will be less susceptible to heat soak, making them better for road course use.

ECS uses a novi 1500 as the base blower.

..so we are looking at about 100lb's mounted down low and slightly aft for the AGP hardware?
That's not too bad I suppose, considering many weigh 100lb more than I do anyways I wonder what the total weight of some of those centri supercharger kits are? They are installed a bit higher up, and front, albeit to the side for the compressor itself. A slight turn off compared to the AGP twin setup for sure on the weight and balance thing. Still loving the simplicity of a centri install though, for the obvious reasons, eg, when selling car, etc..Wow, decisions decisions! Decisions decisions, keep the feedback coming! |

Mileage is slightly low in the city with a centri.
