Front Brake Rotors Question

So I've got two front rotors that were for my CTS-V and after looking the part number (25851237) up it says they'll fit 2012+ Camaro ZL1's also. I sold them on eBay and the buyer insists that the Camaro Rotors are two piece rotors and that they are directional. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me they will work on a 2012 ZL1 or if should cancel the purchase for him. Thanks in advance!

Looks like they changed with the intro of the Zl1, but are backward compatible.

2009-2013 CTS-V/Camaro ZL1 - GM/Brembo - Front 2-Piece Rotors

Features Brembo 2-piece front rotor assemblies that incorporate an advanced high carbon alloy brake rotor material, combined with a billet aluminum bell and patented anti-rattle floating hardware. Their superior metallurgy and directional curved vane design significantly improves airflow and cooling, making these rotors highly effective at managing heat. Similar to the rotor hardware developed by Brembo for some of the worlds top supercars, the anti-rattle hardware design allows a floating rotor to be safely run on the street or track and eliminates excessive noise that is commonly associated with floating rotors. Brembo 2-piece rotors are fully assembled and pre-torqued prior to shipment..
The GM Brembo 2-piece floating brake rotors have been designed for performance on the street or on the track. This upgrade (2009-2011 Upgrade and Standard 2012+) adds more thermo-mechanical resistance, reduced unsprung mass and dissipates heat more efficiently. The anodized aluminum hat design and e-coated outer rotor protect against corrosion from the elements and ensures a more attractive look.
Product Features:

  • 2-Piece Design Brembo OEM
  • Genuine GM Parts backed by Manufacturers Warranty
  • Package Includes LF Part # 20795300 and RF part # 20795302
  • Free Shipping to the lower 48!

The one pie e cts-v rotor and zl1 twompiece rotor are interchangable. The thw two piece costs more and is actually a little heaver butis said to cool better.

So even though they're different they'll still work? I'm sorry but I feel like I'm missing something.

The ones from your 2011 Cadie are not for a ZL1... Clear?

You need to ask him how he is planning to drive the car? The CTS-V one piece rotors will bolt onto a ZL1 Camaro just fine. The air passages on the center of those rotors are straight through with no built in sweep for added cooling (this is why they can mount either side). They will actually cool better on a ZL1 than they did on the CTS-V because the Camaro has cooling ducting to the front brakes and the caddy did not. But the reason that rotor was scrapped is because if you put it on a race track and drove the car hard the rotor would be red hot within 2 laps. Most pads and fluid could not take the heat and the brakes would fail.

If the owner plans on using ceramic pads and never tracking the car that rotor will be fine for street driving the ZL1. It works fine on a CTS-V with ceramic pads and no track duty and the V has more weight and no cooling ducts.

If they plan on hot lapping the car....ever... they should spend the money for two piece rotors.
