On the Ring, that translates to somewhere around 12-16 seconds.

First, Fbodfather is home and making progress. Great News!

Second, a Z/28 will have to be faster around any track, including the ring, to have a reason for being. ZL1 1LE is a verrrryyyyyy high bar.

Whether it has to be NA is another point of discussion. It would need to be 550+ HP to even have a chance andthe 1LE already has brakes and aero topped out.

Sadly I don't see the spot unless it takes whatever 700 plus HP engine supposedly going in the Corvette.

Third, Fenwick, I can't say.

It's possible the Z/28 could remain an engineering demonstrator, and include things like carbon wheels, brakes and active aero. The DSSVs are now used on multiple GM products.

These two posts are drawing crickets in Camaro6 land.

Used to be this type of information would have a great discussion.

But looks like Cadillac is going to change things up a bit.

May or may not impact Alpha architecture as they could choose to take the new CTS (CT5) off of Omega instead, a lighter and stiffer architecture.

Not sure where a sub ATS car comes from or if it's even RWD. For a two month study, they held Alpha up to look at an ATS off of the FWD Delta architecture with an IRS.

Either way the CTS is compromised in many ways from being a stretched and widened ATS. So if they are doing what is suggested, they will either be modifying Alpha to be a great Mid Size or taking it smaller for a sub ATS.

Interesting stuff.

Impressive for sure but I expected the time to be closer to the z06. Would it be fair to speculate with further brake/tire development and a more powerful but lighter NA drive train a 6th gen z28 could trim significantly more time?

As impressive as the ZL1 & ZL1/1LE are the 5Gen IMO is still the better looking Camaro.

There was a ZL1 there too. Have to say it was impressive too. Just can't top an LS7 powered Camaro.

You just gotta love having a 427 in a Chevy!!! I'm really enjoying the Grand Sport, but if a 427 was an option I'd have gone for it!

I agree. After driving my dad's Z/28, there is nothing like it. The sound and feel of that car is unlike anything I've driven. My 1LE and the ZL1 don't come close.
