Think about what lowering does to your suspension. The only angles that will change are the halfshafts CV's. In all probability the CV's are "straighter" after the lowering than before. IOW, when you lowered the car, you raised the tire and wheel in the wheel well, which made the angle of the halfshaft more parallel to the ground. There should be LESS stress on the CV joints now. The differential height is fixed regardless of lowering, and the engine and transmission mounts didn't change either, so the driveshaft angles haven't changed at all.

5 words describe your predicament: Your Dealer is An Idiot!

Did that come from a tech or the mechanicly challenged service advisor? If your car never made it into a bay I would recomend going back. Don't let the advisor shut you down on issues you probably know more about.

I don't remember if there is a service bulletin for this problem but if there is, take it with you.

So if the transmission never changed position (it can't) and the read diff never moved (bolted to the chasis)...then ask the dealer how the driveshaft moved at all. If it were a straight axle in the rear, I could see how this assumption would be made...but half-shafts? C'mon...

Cant the bushings flex enough for lets say one inch. Or in a higher hp maybe more.

The differential can move around some under load. The rubber donut at the end of the driveshaft should absorb the pinion angle deflection for the most part. I think in the OP's case, the bolt either came loose and broke or it was not originally torqued properly and broke. They usually break at the threads. These bolts are not reuseable once taken off and should be replaced according to the service manual.

Did you leave your car at this place overnight? If this all happened after the install did you ever stop and think that somebody took your car out for a ''joyride'' and broke it?
