Are you sure you're looking for the levers? There's one on each side of the rear seatback. They have to be pulled at the same time.

All 3rd and 4th Gens had them...

I know my 79 doesn't have them...and I haven't owned any other camaros. So I really am no authority on this, but my 2 cents is this:

It could have been an option...and maybe IROC'em never took the option...

I think all 3rd gens had them. Some were split some where full. I know all fourth gens have them.

and take a look at any picture of the rear-quarters of the Camaro. If those are side-directional lights, then they have to leave space to access them, that is a deep trunk. also keep in mind. This Generation Camaro is a lot beefier than all previous gens. the 1st and 2nd had trunk lids that sloped down into nothing. the 3rd and 4th Gens were just skinny from a side view. The 5th easily has the tallest trunk of them all.

Probably not much room back there, but I'm sure it'll feature flip-down rear seats. That should help some.

I agree with Warghost, not alot but thats a relative statement. For me coming from a Cadillac it will be kind of small, my CTS was kind of small campared to the STS I had before. But coming from the Civic I think you will be ok.

if you want a reasonable idea of the trunk size, go look at the trunk size of the Pontiac G8, it has a fairly big trunk, so i dont think the camaro's trunk will be too small

If that's the impression you get....I suspect you may be pleasantly surprised at how much room is really back there....take a peek at some Prototype pictures, and just try and gauge how much space can be alotted for the trunk....there's a decent amount.

I got a model kit for Christmas and was surprised at the potential size of the trunk (you might want to change the title of the thread, I was expecting something about trucks!). The trunk area is somewhat narrow but fairly long and deep. The narrowness comes from the wheel wells eating into the space at the rear. But this is common on alot of newer vehicles. It should be noted that the new Camaro is expected to have an external width approaching 80 inches. so the trunk can loose a bit of relative width and not be harmed

I think there's actually going to be plenty of room back there. Heck...I'm just happy to be getting a trunk!

Me too... A trunk is much preferred over the hatchback on the previous two generations.

Got to be better than my Sky..... so if I can take a week long trip in it with my Lady the Camaro should not have a problem plus you have a back seat for more stuff.
