Wow! That is much faster than I had anticipated when comparing it to the CTS-V's lap time (my guess was orginally about a 7:55, but after hearing the latest news and watching the track vids I had guessed around a 7:51). I guess the much fatter and better rubber and all the track goodies really made a huge difference. Aero must have had a big part to play as well.
Still, 18 seconds faster than the V, that is craziness!!! I love it!!!

My mind is blown.
Is this even possible? Faster than a Z06 and ZR1, not to mention the other cars it eclipses? Seriously? I'm almost having a hard time believing this is true. Edit: times have since been updated with the best, most recent runs by the ZR1 and Z06.

Wholly crapolla! I was guessing high 7:40s and I thought that was a stretch!!! I almost don’t believe this to be honest, but if it is true I couldn’t have asked for anything more. |

Of course, the possible downside of all of this, the videos showing all of the technology that the ZL1 has, and the excellent performance numbers that are starting to be released, could be is that Chevrolet is preparing us for a MSRP for the ZL1 that is higher than we'd like it to be.

How in the world can a 3900 lb car with more weight, less HP, and smaller tires be faster than a ZR1?
Something is very interesting to say the least. |
