Inside the Dual Mode Exhaust Muffler

Looking for an inside view of a dual mode exhaust muffler. I want to see what actually is going on when either mode occurs. Wondering if anyone has actually cut these open to see. No luck finding a picture or video yet. Thanks in advance.

Saw a pic drawing of one, Basically it comes in and has two routes one goes straight with tiny holes perforated and out to the valve. The other tube Y's off and goes at angle thru fiberglass to the other exit point just like a normal muffler. When the valve is open your straightpipe except the perforated holes and possible some chambered crimps. If you didn't do a NPP you could always put cutouts before the muffler and dump straight down and get the same effect, but much louder. A friend with his mustang does this and the cutouts only open at WOT.

Cool, thanks. I searched "cross section". Cut away is a better term to use. Thanks.

Probably not exactly what you're looking for but here's my video of the flaps opening and closing.
