Z/28 Cold Air Intake?

Does anyone know if the new Z28 cold air intake fits our LS3s? If so, are they even available to purchase? I have a CAI, not looking for othe cold air products, but would buy the z28 one if available

They will fit and will be available this summer but pricing has not been released yet. The parts might already be available individually. Check this thread. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=314522

Keep an eye on this thread if you haven't seen it already for the pricing and release of all the Z/28 part packages. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=356478

Thank you. Then the next obvious question becomes are there any real gains over the CAI? I'm sure it's not just some $300 setup, GM will milk every penny out of it

Based on the link listing parts and prices, it looks like all the parts will total around $800.00!

No one will know for certain, until a back to back test on a dyno will be done.

Spent a lot of time on Woodward this week (20th annual Dream Cruise). Spent some time at the Chevy displays too. The whole Z28 intake setup was on display. Nice quality look and feel, however, I don't think it's worth the cost of swapping out my CAI just to say I have a Z28 part.

BTW, I've heard a lot of people say that the Z28 cold air setup will not fit our 1LEs with the LS3. However, the Chevy rep at the Performance display confirmed that it will. Maybe he's wrong, (alot of those guys are clueless, they pulled the shortest straw and ended up working the display all week), but common sense says why would they create the part as a "Chevy Perfomance Upgrade" if it only fits the Z28, which comes with it anyway.

Is the Z/28 Throttle body bigger. I could see that being the only hiccup, but could be fixed fairly easy

My understanding is yes, but the upgrade comes with the adjusted size.

One last thing to share. My understanding is that the state of CA is attempting to block K&N's "50 state legal" claims as the intakes do not meet new CA carb/arb laws. K&N has been able to get away with this since until now, their products have been "OFF Road Use". Now, that they are producing the intakes for the Z28, they can't bar anyone in CA from buying these cars. So either the law changes (doubt it, CA is full of bleeding hearts) or K&N stops producing these intakes for the Z28 if the state is successful. So i'm thinking, if you want one, probably look to getting one sooner than later. I was having this conversation with a Chevy Performance person, I'm not from CA nor know the ins and outs of K&N and their business models or markets. So I have no idea how far the state will push this, nor know how K&N will respond.

Bad news fellas. The Z/28 intake fits 2014 and 2015s and will void your engine warranty.

Thanks for the update, although this has to be the dumbest GM idea yet to void my warranty for buying a "Chevy Performance" part
