We have hit 538-540 rwhp on pump 93 octane on a stock short block, but it is a bit aggressive. The highest we have done stock displacement was 568 rwhp..a bit more radical still and that would require 98-100 octane to do that one.

Of course if you want to go bigger cubes, then that makes it much easier to do, but remember if you keep the bore the same and just increase stroke it will not do much for HP, but a ton for torque...given the exact same combo, just a longer stroke expect 15-18 hp, and 35-45 ft-lbs of torque increase.
Thx for chimin in.. I was Goin crazy when dudes on here with cars that have a bolt on or two preaching that 550 is a no go on stock short block, an acquaintance is running one of your big cams and ls7 heads making 545 at wheels. Daily driver no problems..

Richmond too care of it. It took a little kicking and screaming but I got a refund. This happened long ago... March 2010. My car had the first set of 4.10s in a Camaro.

Easy bro... all you got on me is a cam... Big cam LS7 is not a stock short block LS3... you get 550 to the tires out of a stock short block LS3 and it will be a bear to drive... if you could even get there.

I'm pretty sure he said LS7 heads, not a big cam LS7. Thats a huge difference.

Everyones tolerances and what they define as steetable is going to be different

550 rwhp can be done. Not that I would do it with the oem engine.. and engine is an air pump.. move more air make more power... rpms move more air... but you have nuamces that come with hi rpms....
no its not practical and would be a bear of a car to drive with the stock engine...
but a stroke and hone and head job and it then becomes practical with cubic inches...

As from Anthony from LG said its the rpm at which the power is developed

We made 500 with a head a cam 346 and our 383 makes about 40 more hp than that at the tires as well. You should be able to make more hp than that and not lose tq. Something is not right there... unless you have a stock cam in it?
Drives stock....he could sell this car to anybody
Anywere and never worry about emissions or
Anybody complaining how it drives.

Btw- there is not a 376 around that makes
His torque ...na.

Have you seen that 427 vid I posted ? that drives stock as well but makes a lot more hp and tq and passes emissions and could sell to anyone as well....LOL

Just thought it was pretty low numbers for a 427. Wasn't meant to cause a stir, thats why I asked if it has an oem cam in it.

I made 449/459 on a Mustang dyno with the mods in my sig. From what I hear, if I go to a dynojet dyno I should pull 510/520....ish(im not chasing these #'s btw). Number are just numbers. With stock tires I have enough traction issues at the track.... as a DD, its not bad. Just gotta learn how to drive with a big cam.

Believe it or not my car drives close to stock, major part had to do with the clutch I installed (McLeod RXT) and when I say close to stock it actually feels better than the stock Camaro clutch which I hated. I've heard the ZR1 is pretty similar to a stock feel. I say go all out on the build and have fun with the car (YOU WILL HAVE FUN) because like a lot of other car friends I have you'll probably want more. My cars are always naturally aspirated just my thing.

I have not been back to the drag strip but when I floor it on the street and after the motor hits 3k or so the tires let loose in first or second gear. Maybe the colder outside temps too.

I have 23K miles on my Richmond 4.10s and just made my first 2 passes at the track last week with no problems. Then again, I was running on all-season tires and rolling into the throttle (went a bit more aggressive the 2nd time but just spun a bunch through 1st).
